This feature has been around for a while, so we wouldn't change it (and risk annoying everyone who is used to it) unless a really compelling reason became apparent for doing so. Maybe others will weigh in on this thread if they think it's important enough.

I like the idea of economizing on the format. However, if the format changes from one leg to the other then it becomes difficult to interpret at a glance. Therefore I would keep the format consistent.

I agree with the ranking of importance: (1) track, (2), time, (3) distance.

Here is a format suggestion: 030°-01:30-30nm (and start truncating from the right). The only change to the format used is that there is no space between the number and the unit (either "°" or "nm") and that the time is always given in hh:mm.

Seems to be a workable compromise to me.

I love the data labels on the legs of the chart when printed out, however when the leg gets too short for the whole information to fit, it is truncated until only the distance remains, which is (in my opinion) the least useful information.

I feel the track is much more important, but this is the first to be lost, while the time is probably second most important. Would it be possible to change the order in which the information is shortened? I think it would also be helpful to convert the time from 2 min to 2:15 which is both shorter and allows quarter-minute precision (anything more would probably be excessive), and for really short legs to use a format like 060°/2' to keep as much information as possible on the chart.

Thanks as always for making the best, better.
